WHAT IS QIGONG?
Sometimes called Chi Gong. Qigong is an ancient martial art that transforms tension and stress into vitality and life-force energy. It is mind-body-spirit practice that improves physical and mental health by integrating breath and movement. It strengthens the body and relaxes the mind, tonifies internal organs, promotes circulation of oxygen, blood and lymph. Keeps tendons, ligaments, and muscles flexible, facilitates self healing, helps the body and mind to heal from chronic illness, emotional frustration, mental stress, and spiritual crisis. It aligns us with nature, the universe and our higher purpose.
IS IT LIKE YOGA?
There are some similarities between all the eastern disciplines and arts in as much as they are all designed to move energy, strengthen the body and calm the mind. However, how they achieve this is different and there is no direct comparison between them all.
WHAT IS QI?
Qi is the invisible life force energy that keeps us alive. We can’t see it but we know it’s there because our heart beats, our food digests, we think and we move. This is Qi!
CAN ANYONE DO QIGONG?
Yes anyone can do Qigong, whatever your age or fitness level, whether you have injuries or disabilities, Qigong is suitable for everyone.
DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CERTAIN LEVEL OF FITNESS?
No. You can have any level of fitness to join in with Qigong. Everyone can feel the benefits of Qigong.
HOW WILL I BENEFIT FROM IT IF I HAVE BODY POSTURE PROBLEMS, LIMITED MOVEMENT OR INJURY?
Every journey starts with just one step. There is always a way to adapt Qigong to suit every individual. Movement can be smaller, or can be seated, and the sessions will progress as you start to gain more strength and flexibility. It is recommended to have a 1-1 session before joining a group class. This would allow time to adapt and give you some familiarity to the movements. This is the beauty of 1-1 sessions because they are geared towards you and your needs.
HOW LONG IS A SESSION?
A 1-1 session is a minimum of 1 hour. If the session over runs it’s because we are in the flow and in the moment and I won’t finish the session just to finish within the hour.
DO I HAVE TO WEAR ANY SPECIFIC CLOTHING?
No special clothing is needed, you could even wear your work uniform!
CAN I PRACTICE QIGONG IF I AM PREGNANT?
Yes. Qigong is wonderful for pregnancy, it is very calming and soothing for both mother and baby. If you have any concerns surrounding Qigong and pregnancy please refer to a medical practitioner.
WILL IT HELP WITH HEALTH CONDITIONS?
There have been 1000’s of scientific studies and trials that have shown Qigong to improve and even cure certain ailments. Of course this depends on the effort you put in, like anything in life the reward comes with the amount of effort.

DO I NEED A LOT OF SPACE TO PRACTICE QIGONG?
Qigong is 90% all done stood in the same floor space, occasionally there are moves that require you to stand in a wide leg stance, either way the only space you will need is enough for the arms to be outreached in all directions.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A SESSION?
In a typical Qigong session we will gently warm up the body. We will activate internal energy so we are able to feel our own life force energy circulating. We will purge tension and stress with gentle stretches. When we have done all this we are ready to enter into flow, these are gentle flowing movements that mimic the movements in nature. All of this is combined with deepening the breath to bring our body into relaxation mode. This is when the body activates its own self healing mechanisms. You will have the opportunity to ask me anything you are not sure of during the 1-1 sessions. Unfortunately group online sessions are muted because if many participants try to ask any questions the class becomes very disjointed. There will always be time after an online class to ask me anything or alternatively you can message, email or call me.
All Class content is based on the training of Holden Qigong.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO QIGONG TO SEE SOME REAL BENEFIT?
You can feel a benefit after the first session as the mind and nervous system start to calm down. It’s best to try and cultivate a regular practice, how much time you have depends on the individual. If you can spare an hour per week that's great, even better if you can do 2, amazing if you can do it everyday. You don’t have to do hour long qigong sessions everyday, even 10 minutes a day is super beneficial.

Yes of course. Life is never straight forward!
CAN I CANCEL A SESSION AND WILL I LOSE MONEY?
If you are unsure if Qigong is for you please try a free taster session to be certain you are going to like it. If after this you book and then cancel a full refund will be given up to 48 hours in advance, if a session is cancelled after this then a 50% charge is taken.
CAN I CANCEL A BLOCK BOOKING AND WILL I LOSE MONEY?
It depends on how many session have already been used from the block booking. In this event please contact me.
CAN I USE THE DISCOUNT CODE ON A PRICING PLAN?
No. You can use the discount codes on single sessions only. This is because the pricing plans are already discounted.
